Discover the rich history, vision, and values that define Bhekisizwe Senior Secondary School
Bhekisizwe Senior Secondary School was established in 2004 by the visionary educator Mr. M.E Mnguni, who believed passionately that every child in the Nqutu community deserved access to world-class education. From its humble beginnings with fewer than 200 learners and a small teaching staff, the school has grown into one of KwaZulu-Natal's most respected academic institutions.
As a 100% Black-owned institution, Bhekisizwe is a testament to the power of community, resilience, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence. Over the decades, we have produced thousands of graduates who have gone on to lead careers in medicine, law, engineering, education, business, and public service — each carrying forward the values instilled within these walls.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. We built this school to change lives, one student at a time."
To be the leading institution of academic excellence in KwaZulu-Natal, producing well-rounded graduates who are equipped to thrive in a dynamic global environment.
To provide quality, inclusive education that develops the intellectual, social, and moral character of every learner, through dedicated teaching, strong values, and a supportive school community.
